Teen/Adult Classes

Class Descriptions

Contemporary

This dance styles combines elements from Ballet, Modern, Jazz, and Lyrical to make its own expressive style. Students will do a Modern dance-infused warm up, across the floor combinations, and choreography.

Hip Hop

All Hip Hop classes start with a high-energy warm up, strengthening exercises, and stretches before learning Hip Hop choreography to both new and old-school songs.

Jazz

All Jazz classes incorporate vigorous warm-ups, technique work, across the floor movement, and jazz combinations to a variety of music.

Tap

All Tap classes start with a warm up, tap drills, across the floor exercises and routines that incorporate the entire body, not just the feet.

5 week 7th-11th Grade Turns, Leaps, & Tap Technique

Students will progress toward advanced leaps, turns, and tap footwork.

Fall Session: September 11th – October 9th

Winter Session will be offered in January-February if interest

9 week 7th-11th Grade Musical Theatre

Students will do scene work, musical theatre choreography, and work on “audition techniques” during this 9 week class.

Fall Session: October 16th-December 18th

Spring Session: March 12th – Recital 

Open High School Dance

This class is open to all high school students. It will start as a Jazz class and explore other dance genres based on student requests.

Workout with Miss Korinne

Total body conditioning with cardio dance mixed in. This class will be offered in sessions.

Adult Dance

This class is open to adults who’d like to get back into dancing or just want to try it for the first time. Several styles will be covered. This will be offered in sessions.

High School/Adult Program

Monday and Thursday High School/Adult Classes will be leveled into 2 sections that meet at the same time based on enrollment.
Level III is for recommended advanced adults only.

Open High School Dance is an unleveled class open to all high school students. This class will start as a Jazz class, but will cover various dance genres based on student requests.

11th Grade - Adult Workout and Adult Dance will run in Fall and Spring Sessions and are open to all levels.

Attire

Teen/Adult Jazz: Appropriate dancewear, black jazz shoes, barefoot/foot undies.

Teen/Adult Tap: Appropriate dancewear, black tap shoes

Teen/Adult Contemporary: Appropriate dancewear and barefoot/foot undies.

Teen/Adult Hip Hop: Appropriate dancewear and black hip hop sneakers.

Dancewear can be purchased at any local dance store:

  • Dance This Way in Concord
  • Dancer’s Warehouse in Wellesley

Gym shorts, pajama bottoms, sweatpants or oversized tops are not appropriate attire for class.

Hair must always be securely pulled off the face and neck during class.
